The project
This BMW M8 Competition F92 coupé received a full satin black vinyl wrap at Onyx Tinting & Wrapping. HEXIS vinyl gives the bodywork a deep black finish with a softer reflection than gloss, while the bonnet contours and wide front wings remain clearly defined.
The project photos show the completed wrap from several angles, alongside close-up views of the finish. The satin bodywork contrasts with the shiny black grille and textured front splitter, giving the M8 a strong visual presence without adding another colour to the exterior.

The benefits
A vinyl wrap is a way to change your car’s appearance without committing to a colour-change respray. You can choose a colour and surface finish that suits the shape of the vehicle, rather than being limited to its existing paint finish.
Satin is particularly effective when you want depth without the mirror-like reflections of gloss. If you are considering a wrap for your own BMW, this project’s mix of full-car photos and detail shots gives you a useful starting point for discussing the finish you want.

The finish up close
The close-up of the front end shows how light moves across the bonnet’s raised lines. The broad panels have a soft sheen, while sharper edges catch brighter highlights. That variation is part of the appeal of satin vinyl: the surface still has depth, and the car’s shape remains easy to read. Compare this detail with the wider views in the project gallery below.
